Flags, not verdicts — a human reviews every one before anything counts.
The same two-minute check-in students get — because staff carry campuses too.
Academics
Describe what you need and the built-in AI agent sets it up. You stay the examiner; it does the typing.
Request early accessAI proctoring that stays calm
Face, phone and head-pose monitoring with violation logs a human reviews — flags, not verdicts. Live monitoring across the whole hall from one screen.
AI grades, you decide
Per-question, per-criterion proposed scores on essays and problem work. Every mark is reviewed and confirmed by the professor — as your accreditation expects.
Questions from your PDFs
Attach lecture notes; get a draft paper with tagged difficulty. Edit, shuffle, publish.
Classes, attendance, gradebook
Teach live, track presence, and keep one source of truth for grades — exams and assignments in one Overall %.
Made for 100+ seat courses
Bulk invitations, TA roles, coding questions with auto-run, and screens that don’t flinch at large cohorts.
Live classes
A whiteboard inside the live class, made for the pen on an interactive panel and just as happy with a mouse. What you draw reaches every student as you draw it, lands in the recording, and is kept beside it as notes for the same evening. Students watch the board; only you can draw on it.
One tap and you are drawing
“On the board” next to the class opens the room with the board up and nothing else on screen. Focus keeps it that way for the whole lecture.
Say it, and the board draws it
Tap the microphone, say “binary search tree with seven nodes” or “a circle with its equation”, and it appears as shapes and text you can edit, so you tidy instead of draw. Type it if you would rather. A lapel or wireless microphone hears you best.
Your slides under your pen
Put a PDF of your deck on the board. Each slide becomes its own page, locked underneath, so you annotate over it and the slide stays put.
Notes the same evening
Every page is kept beside the recording. As the video plays, the page you were on is highlighted; click a page to jump to it. One PDF of all pages, or any page on its own, to download.
Pick up where last week stopped
Open an earlier class’s pages onto today’s board and keep drawing. Last week’s notes stay exactly as they were.
Nothing to install on the panel
It runs in the browser on the PC that drives your panel, or in Institra Desktop. The panel keeps its own software for everything else; there is nothing to integrate.
The desktop client
Institra Desktop opens the exam in one fullscreen window with no tabs and no address bar, runs the camera inside it, and reports to the professor exactly what it managed to enforce on that machine — a reading, not a claim. Windows, macOS and Ubuntu differ in what an operating system will allow, and it says which one it is on.
💻
Built in Bengaluru
The Ubuntu package is public, with its checksum and its real limits on the page. macOS and Windows are hand-delivered until their installers are signed.
Wellbeing
Not therapy, not surveillance — a lower doorstep. Students say how the day feels in two minutes; the ones having a hard week get one-tap access to the people whose job it is to help. And it isn’t only for students: staff get the same space, with an even stricter deal.
The wall between the halves is the product.
Proctoring data never touches wellbeing records. Professors never see a check-in. Enforced in the database, not the UI.
Two minutes, six feelings
A daily check-in with a gentle voiced companion. Skippable, optional, and never tied to marks or attendance.
The offer, not the alarm
On the hard days, the app asks one question: “Would it help if someone from the counselling centre reached out?” Saying no changes nothing.
A booked human
Real slots from your counselling team’s real diary. Cases, response windows, follow-ups and handover — the operational backbone a counselling cell runs on.
Staff wellbeing too
Professors and staff get the same two-minute check-in and the same direct line to the counselling team. Wellbeing isn’t only for students.
Everyone on campus gets their own front door — and only their own.
Tell the AI agent what you need; review and approve. Exams, grading, classes, attendance.

Every one of these is something you can try in the demo — not a claim you have to take on trust.
Students write and run real code in the browser — Python, JavaScript, Java, C and C++. Every submission runs against your test cases and scores itself.
Write $\int_0^1 x^2\,dx$ in any question, option or rubric. It renders as real maths on the student’s screen.
Built to hold 300+ in one room, inside the course it belongs to. Raise a hand, unmute the one you want, share a screen or open the board, and record the session if you need it.
Face and phone detection, ambient-light flagging, fullscreen and keyboard lockdown — with nothing for students to install. The secure client takes over when a browser isn’t enough.
It scores each essay, code submission and written answer against every rubric criterion and shows the reasoning behind it. You adjust and approve.
Give it a topic or paste your notes and get a ready-to-edit set of multiple-choice and true/false questions, tagged and graded by difficulty.
Quiz tools examine. LMSes organise. Proctoring bolts on. Counselling apps sit outside your campus. Institra is the only place learning and wellbeing — marks and minds — run together.

Let’s talk
Priced after the pilot, for India
No. It never scores or flags a student on its own. There is one optional self-check; the result belongs to the student and reaches the counselling team only if they send it. Everything else is a check-in and a route to a human.
No. No professor-facing role has any access path to wellbeing data in the database — the wall is structural, not a setting.
Never. Exam violations, recordings and flags live entirely apart from wellbeing records, and nothing joins them.
Camera-based face, phone and head-pose monitoring, plus a native lockdown desktop client for high-stakes exams. It logs and flags; apart from the auto-submit thresholds you set, humans decide.
Yes, in the sense that matters: Institra runs in a browser or in Institra Desktop on the PC that drives the panel, and the board takes the panel’s pen like any drawing app. Nothing is integrated with the panel’s own software and nothing needs to be. We run a trial class on your panel before you decide anything.
Professors: free. Institute pilots, including wellbeing: free. Institute-wide pricing after a pilot is a conversation.
Not today — requests go to your own counselling team, and the console fits a single visiting counsellor as readily as a full cell. A counsellor network for campuses that have none is what we’re building next. Until then, wellbeing stays off until you turn it on.
A working demo on demo data, your counselling team in the room, and every hard question welcome.
